Tata Indicom launched its CSR (corporate social responsibility) initiative on 21st of February, 2007 wherein they announced their plans for long term association with Plan India. Irfaan Pathan (brand ambassador Tata Indicom and well known Indian cricketer) announced the strategic and long term partnership between Tata Indicom and Plan India on that day. Children from one of Plan’s project in Delhi also performed on this occasion.
As a part of this program Tata Indicom also donated autographed cricket bats and balls by Irfan Pathan to Plan India. The autographed cricket memorabilia was then put up on auction on eBay by Plan India. The funds raised from this auction was used for our street children program in Delhi.
“We the children….PLANutsav” a fund raising charity dinner to gather support for ensuring rights of children in India was organized by Plan India on 6th April, 2007 at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. Noted bollywood actor and Plan brand ambassador Anil Kapoor was the host for the evening which had the who’s who from Bollywood and the world of business attending. Tata Indicom supported the event by covering costs for printing of the event brochures for Plan India. The funds raised from this event are being used for Plan India’s campaign for Right to Education
